Swale Film Society - Faces Places (12A)
Friday 30th November 2018 Doors open 7pm, Film starts 7.45pm.
Faces Places is the Swale Film Society's documentary movie for this year. Director Agnès Varda and photographer and muralist JR journey through rural France and form an unlikely friendship. The odd and talented pair embark on this journey in a van, adapted to be a mobile photo booth. Throughout their journey the pair encourage locals to have their portrait pictures taken in the booth, which they then print out at gigantic size and plaster on the sides of buildings in order to pay tribute to their subjects. The results are utterly spectacular, and often extremely moving. This is a documentary that you do not want to miss!
