Film & Fundraising Night
Satruday 2nd December at 7.30pm
To celebrate Smile Malawi’s 13th Birthday and the completion of the “Bridge to Kapeya” The charity is hosting an informal fundraising evening at the Avenue Cinema in Sittingbourne, Kent.
The evening will include a showing of the documentary “Haven” which was filmed at the Orphanage in Kapeya by the students of Chapman University in California USA. This has received critical acclaim at a number of film festivals in the States and describes the impact the work of Smile Malawi has had on the children in Blantyre. This is an emotional and affirming film
Additionally, there will be a presentation on the amazing Bridge construction project that has just been completed on the road to Kapeya. Over the last year considerable effort has been expended to replace a bridge structure that was destroyed by floods in 2004..
Finally there will be an update on the work of Smile Malawi and reports of recent visits that have been made. These are really “Holidays with a Difference” and provide lifetime memories.
Maybe an idea for you in 2018?
Light refreshments and a cash bar will be available.
The evening will commence at 7.30pm with an introduction by Elspeth Baecke, the Founder of Smile Malawi at 8.00pm.
